Mr. Syed Shahbaz Bukhari is Chairman Board of Directors ILRA Ltd. Mr. Bukhari has served following offices of the Bar Council and Bar Association:

Pro Bono cases

Mr. Bukhari has keen interest in public interest litigations and pro bono cases. Mr. Bukhari remained principal lawyer for the victims/complainants in many pro bono cases and some following cases had got attraction by National and International Media:

  1. Triple Murder case of an innocent family (namely Khalil) by police officials (known as Sahiwal Incident)
  2. Fraud Case of renowned Double Shah criminal group with Chinese lady Jin Hia Xia.
  3. Fraud Case with Canadian Lady Anne Marie Remillard.
  4. Fraud Case with Chinese lady Gu Yang Ling
Arbitration: Mr. Bukhari is providing legal services to some international companies who have established their business offices in Pakistan.  China’s One Belt One Road strategy is mostly based on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). CPEC will not only benefit Pakistan and China but will have positive impact on many countries. Business community prefers to resolve their issues out of court through arbitration. Mr. Bukhari was appointed as an Arbitrator in many matters but following matters are worth mentioning.
  1. Four different cases were pending between sixteen parties regarding three commercial as well as residential properties. There were number of issues of possession, partition, previous rents, recoveries of rental amounts and some forged documents among all of the parties regarding two commercial buildings & one residential house of worth amount more than one Billion Rupees. Mr. Bukhari was honored to be appointed as Arbitrator in all these cases by the order of the Learned Civil Judge, Faisalabad. After visiting the suit properties, collection of evidences, recording statements of the parties and inquiry, Mr. Bukhari passed an Arbitral Award. No party raised any objection on Arbitral Award and the same was appreciated by the trial court as well as Appellate Court. The execution proceeding was also conducted by me.

  2. Brothers and legal heirs of deceased brothers were not ready to give inherited share to their two real sisters and one brother who lived in USA. There were number of issues regarding different businesses and immovable properties i.e., publication of newspapers from three cities (established since 1937), business of printing press from two cities, News Agency and many commercial and residential properties. Number of cases pending among the parties in different courts of Pakistan from last more than a decade. Mr. Bukhari was honored to be appointed as Arbitrator by the Honorable Court. There were number of complex matter were pending among the parties. Mr. Bukhari played his role as mediator and more than 90% litigations and matters have been settled among the parties so far.

Community Service Projects:

Mr. Bukhari is Charter President of Rotary Club of Lahore Canal. Mr. Bukhari is serving Rotary International as Deputy Governor (2022-23) and have served Rotary International as District Chair RYLA-Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for three consecutive years (2019-2022). Mr. Bukhari organized a five-day training program RYLA-Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for more than 500 young adults and young entrepreneurs. RYLA consisted of workshops and colorful recreational activities including city tours and cultural events. The prime areas of that five-day event were personal development, leadership, citizenship and sports competitions. Mr. Bukhari love to serve the community through service projects and enjoy reading, travelling and music.

Mr. Sayyed Shahzad Bukhary

is one of the directors of Institute for “Institute for Legal Research and Advocacy” (ILRA). He has received his L.L.B (Bachelor of Law) and Masters in Political Science degrees from The University of Punjab and started his law practice from the provincial capital of Punjab (Lahore) Pakistan. Mr. Bukhary has significant transactional experience in a broad range of corporate, private equity, venture capital and securities disciplines. His practice includes the representation of public and private entities, fund sponsors, family offices and asset management firms in all aspects of corporate governance and finance including structuring and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, fund formation, joint ventures, private placements and go public transactions. Despite this broad practice, Mr. Sayyed Shahzad Bukhary is fiercely committed to serving the community. He is currently President of Lahore Canal Club of Rotary International and has done many events under the Rotary platform to serve community well. He has represented several public interest clients pro bono.

Mrs. Fariha Shahbaz Bukhari

is one of the directors of Institute for “Institute for Legal Research and Advocacy” (ILRA). Mrs Bukhari earned her law degree (LLB) from The University of Punjab and started her career as a lawyer. She helps clients solve their most complex and challenging legal problems. Her primarily focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, class actions and personal injury claims. As part of her broad-based commercial and complex litigation practice, Mrs. Shahbaz Bukhari has handled matters at the local, provincial and federal level.
